Tara Ojo -

Life as a “junior” developer can be intense, overwhelming, but rewarding. Hundreds of tools available, jargon for days and endless questions. Let’s explore, through the eyes and thoughts of a recent junior dev, how employers, mentors and communities, can better support the juniors they work with. Including what junior devs can be doing now to move on to the next level.

Simona Cotin - Machine learning and the quest for building a better world

Machine learning is changing the way we live our lives as we speak. Data is being processed by some learning algorithms out there and turned into knowledge that helps us navigate our way to work, improves our communication by finding and correcting our spelling errors, gives us movie and restaurant recommendations and helps us find our better half. But there’s a dark side to that too — the data that’s being fed to these algorithms carries our day-to-day bias and can lead to building an even more segregated world. Let’s explore our options when architecting this new powerful way of building software for a better world.
