About this event
The UK’s digital technology sector is creating jobs twice as fast as other sectors but “access to talent” is cited as the most common challenge for employers. There is an increasing need to prepare people for the future of work – digital and technical capabilities, alongside uniquely “human skills” like empathy, creativity and critical thinking are becoming essential for workers now and in the future.
The Corsham Institute has undertaken research in this area and is committed to developing new ways to train people in partnership with employers. Join us for an interactive session to explore how we can really start closing the digital skills gap in Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and beyond. We want to hear directly from employers on which occupations they are struggling to recruit to, what skills underpin those jobs, and what jobs will they need to plan for in the future. We also want to know who the untapped resources are and how we can best train people for these jobs.
Join us to really unpick what the digital skills gap is in this region so we can take action.
At the start of this event, we will be hosting a complimentary networking lunch in the Hartham Park Mansion House and inviting you to step in to Corsham Institute’s VR Cave for a fun virtual reality experience, so to join in, please arrive at 12:30pm, and confirm your lunch attendance by emailing email@example.com notifying us of any special dietary/access requirements. The Future of Work and Digital Skills session will begin at 2pm.
