We're looking for a fundraising manager to join us on a part time basis, starting as soon as possible through until at least 31 October.  

Overview

Location: Remote, from home with travel to Bath as required.

Contract: Part time, freelance contract with flexible hours. Starting asap until 31 October and must include 18-23 October.

Salary: £150 per day, invoiced and paid monthly. Tax, national insurance, sick or holiday pay, travel, pension and any other benefits are not covered by the charity. Minor expenses will be reimbursed. 

Hours: Working hours are flexible. The role is likely suited to a freelancer or someone with flexibility as workload will vary week-by-week around key deadlines and event dates. Whilst we anticipate this role continuing until end October 2021 (and possibly longer), this contract is offered on a rolling monthly basis with regular review and specific fundraising targets. 

Job purpose summary

Bath Digital Festival is a registered charity that champions digital and technology in Bath and surrounding areas through high profile events, showcases and interactions with the community on a local and international scale. 

Key projects include:

  • Bath Digital Festival - An annual community festival, this year taking place 19-23 October 21. With Covid restrictions in place, it is anticipated the festival will be a hybrid series with approximately 40 events over the course of the week.
  • Third Thursday - an evening networking style event that takes place monthly, gathering creative and tech minds to encourage innovation and collaboration.
  • Digital Skills Exchange - currently in its pilot phase. The project supports skills and talent locally in the tech industry. The project involves a series of workshops for individuals, a showcase event for businesses and an online resource portal.

You will join the team as a Fundraising Manager to raise funds through corporate sponsorship and other funding streams that ensures the long-term sustainability of the charity. 

The role is very hands-on. You’ll need to be an experienced fundraiser with knowledge of the digital and technology sector, preferably with strong local contacts. An understanding of charity and event management practices would also be an advantage.

Key responsibilities

  • Produce and manage a successful fundraising strategy
  • Communicate and maintain timelines and priorities
  • Develop and maintain excellent funder relationships.
  • Manage operational and administrative functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Attend sponsor meetings, donor events and networking opportunities
  • Produce presentation materials and be able to confidently communicate to funders.
  • Monitor and review the festival budget to ensure income targets are met
  • Ensure excellent customer service and quality delivery.
  • Provide account management to sponsors and partners, working with the event manager to ensure sponsorship packages are fulfilled.
  • Plan and prepare the post-festival wrap up and legacy work.
